CHASSIS (CanAm, Formula 1, Coupe, and Stock Car)

1. Chassis must be scratchbuilt or commercially available scratchbuilt chassis in kit form or built conforming to the specs.

2. The only allowable chassis materials are brass sheet, rod, and tubes, steel wire, pin tubing, and commercial guide tongues are allowed. No other materials are allowed.

3. Motor bracket must be made from brass with 3 vertical sides meeting at 90° angles, centered in chassis width. Bearings may be attached to motor bracket directly or a rear axle tube which contacts the motor bracket.

4. Floating pin tubes are allowable.

5. Steel used for guide tongues are limited to a maximum of 1.0” wide x 1.5” long.

6. Keyed construction is not permitted.

7. Main rails must connect the front and rear sections of the chassis and me made from wire or tubing. Use of metal strip for this purpose is not permitted.

8. No other part of the chassis, motor, gear can extend below the chassis main rails.

9. All hinged movement must be in only one direction. Drop arms are the exception and are allowable. No centerline hinges.

10. Lead weight or tape may not be attached to bottom of chassis.

11. Front axle must be a single straight 3/32” min. dia. supporting both front wheels. The axle may be fixed or in a tube. The front axle must pass through the uprights.



CHASSIS (Retro Flexi)

1. Any commercially-available 4” stamped steel “Flexi”-type chassis is allowed. Lightweight factory pans and center sections “OK”.

2. File motor opening/bracket area to fit motor properly is allowable, but the bracket cannot be removed.

3. Lead weight or tape may not be attached to bottom of chassis.

4. Reinforcement of rear uprights with a brace is allowed. Motor brace allowed and may connect to the rear brace.

6. Fixed or floating pin tubes must be located in the original body mount location and lead wire retainers are allowed.

7. Guide tongue reinforcement is allowed. The original guide hole may not be moved or modified.

8. The front axle must pass through the chassis uprights.



BODY

1. CanAm, Formula 1, Coupe and Retro Flexi Bodies may not be any less than .007” thick on the sides. Stock Car bodies may not be less than .015 thick on the sides. Tape or body armor may be used to achieve the desired side thickness.

2. Bodies must be on the approved body list.

3. Front and rear wheel wells must be cut out.

4. Bodies must be painted and carry at least three racing numbers (no hand written numbers), one on each side, and one on the front. No part of the chassis may be seen when looking down on the car from above.

5. Front vertical body lip:

CanAm and Coupes must have a min. 1/16” vertical front lip (unless not on the original car such as TI22)

Formula 1 should have a min. 1/8” vertical front

Retro Flexi should have a min. 1/16” vertical front

Stock cars should retain the complete front bumper, except bumper may be notched for guide clearance.

6. Rear body height for CanAm, Coupe, and Retro Flexi will be 1.375” max. with car on all four wheels on a tech block unsupported by the guide flag. Does not include spoiler extension.

7. Stock cars bodies may not be trimmed above the lower door lines.

8. All chassis parts must be covered by the body.

9. The wheels must be located in relation to the wheel wells in the body.

 
 

AIR CONTROL

1.A single flat plastic spoiler set at any angle may be added to the rear of all bodies except stock cars.

2. The spoiler’s length is a max. ½”.

3. One bend allowed to set initial angle.

4. No side dams, front diaplanes, or wings.


COCKPIT

1. All bodies must have a 2 colors min. painted three-dimensional interior.

2. No paper interiors.

3. Can-Am and Formula 1 bodies must be totally cut out so the interior is in full view. Not required with molded in drivers


REAR TIRES

1. Any commercially-available black rubber tire, chemically-treated or untreated, on any size hub.

2. No tires changes during a race.

3. For move-up’s from one main to another, tires can be changed and the car will be re-teched.


FRONT TIRES

1. Must be separate rim and tire (no one piece molded)

2. Front tires must be glued to the wheels and be made of black rubber.
